Just came back from here. Beautiful property, had a great time, very relaxed vibes , no crazy spring beak kids , they have about 4 restaurants I believe I went to an Italian , Mediterranean, steak house and Asian. We did make reservations as we were a party of 15. Very convenient and easy to do. We will definitely be back next year. My only complaint the pool area needed louder music but I went from Tuesday - Saturday.

i just spent a week at the Halekulani, and while it is an amazing property, i certainly wouldnt describe it as affordable lol

Unforgettable Family Getaway at Club Med Cancun We recently spent a week (April 7-14) with family at Club Med in Cancun, and it was an incredible experience. The resort was well-managed, and the entire team, under the leadership of the village chief Abdel, was commendable. A heartfelt thank you to everyone! Special thanks to the bar staff who consistently served up delightful cocktails with smiles that brightened our days. Most notably, bar team leader Ahmet was exceptional in showcasing various ways to enjoy tequila - his expertise and hospitality were truly appreciated. Ok so we were just at riu republica last week and here are my takeaways….on the plus side-1. the beach was beautiful with plenty of chairs on the beach and plenty of shade and room under the palms if you need to get out of the sun. 2. The jerk chicken stand by the beach is amazing!! 3. At The steak house, the meat sampler for 2 was delicious but the “sirloin of beef” at the Mexican restaurant “ole” was even better. The Asian restaurant was pretty good-get the chicken that is between the duck and spare ribs-very good! The main buffet was what I expected for a riu for breakfast and dinner. the property and room were clean..reading some of the other comments, my wife agreed that the beds were hard……here comes my biggest complaint, we were in the building at the polar opposite of the beach which is back behind the mango restaurant-there was an ice machine on every floor of our building- none of them worked… I went to the adjacent building and the 1st 3 of the ice machines I tried, were all broke as well….IT WASNT UNTIL I GOT TO THE 8th ICE MACHINE THAT I TRIED AND FOUND IT WORKING--that’s 1 in 8 ice machines that worked- Ridiculous!!!

The point of the hotel isn’t to be the best in the world, it’s just to experience the scene, watch a race, gamble, see the beautiful people and shop. It’s a lot of fun if you lean into the total package vs just expect the hotel room to be the main event
